Sessions Times

  • 10:30-12:00p.m.
  • 1:00-2:30p.m.
  • 2:30-4:00p.m.

Be on time for each session. If you are late for a lesson, your session will be altered accordingly at the discretions of the leader in order to meet time constraints. To arrange an appointment please call Wendy Krook 218-428-3580.

Our sessions are one and a half hour long with activities that may include chores, grooming/saddling, riding, games, hiking, learning horse behavior and playing.

Requirements for Participation

  • Our session program is open to all children ages 5–18 with a weight limit less than 220 pounds. Seeds of Hope Youth Ranch’s volunteers work with any child willing and wanting to be here.
  • Volunteer leaders work one on one with each child that comes in, meeting the individual needs of each child. While we do not wish to turn any child away, there is a limited number of sessions available each week.
  • We cannot guarantee a session for every child who wants one, although, Seeds of Hope Youth Ranch does try our best to make it possible. It is important to be on time for your session or call Seeds of Hope Youth Ranch if you are unable to make your session. This way we can give it to the next available child. At this time we “require” your children to be able to get on a horse and sit independently in the saddle. Seeds of Hope Youth Ranch is not a residential facility, therefore, the majority of children in our program live in proximity to the ranch.

The ranch has always offered its sessions, free of charge.  Our ranch is supported

through donations, grants, and fundraisers.  However, if you wish to donate it is

considered a “free will donation” and is tax deductible.

What to Bring

  • Shoes/boots: with closed toes and closed heels are required. (We usually have extra boots on hand)
  • Long pants for riding
  • Weather changes, so please dress in layers
  • Please bring water bottles and sunscreen
  • Items forgotten can be found in our Lost and Found, items not claimed by the end of the riding season (October) will be donated or disposed of.

Parking

We request that all session participants park by the barn stall area (where the clip board news is)

  • For special events, follow the parking signs and attendants to the designated parking areas.
  • Please do not park in the parking area by the residential home.
  • Please do not park on the grass.
  • Do not bring your pets to the ranch.
  • All garbage, wrappers, gum, Kleenex, papers, etc., must be picked up to prevent accidental ingestion by the horses which would result in illness for the horse.
